The Awards of Petit Plan Europa V

On Friday 13th December the  5th European Short Film Festival – Petit Plan Europa V was concluded.

The festival, which focuses on human rights and European values, presented 33 European short films in 4 competition categories, from which the festival audience voted for their favourite films.

Over 600 people (students and general audience) attended the screenings and presentations of the filmmakers at the Goethe Institute and the Hellenic American Union between 10-13 December and through their votes the following films were awarded:

The Student Audience Award goes to “The Armchair On The Pavement”. Director Mary Kolonia’s tender personal film from Greece about a retired man suffering from dementia won the hearts of the students who voted it as their favorite.

The Best Student Film Award goes to “The Elephant & The Room”. The audience voted for  the documentary by Anas Qadamani from the Netherlands, which documents the questioning of Western European values in the midst of the migration crisis.

The European Values Award #ThisIsEU goes to the film “Honeymoon”. The audience voted for the film by Greek director Alki Papastathopoulos about a transphobic attack.

And finally, the Best Greek Film Award goes to “Nothing Holier Than A Dolphin”. Director Isabella Margara’s ecological allegory impressed the festival audience, who voted it Best Greek Film.
