Over 1.000 high school students from all over Attica attended the screenings of “Petit Plan: Europa”, which took place on 3-6 February at the Hellenic American College.
41 films from all over Europe were screened with an emphasis on European values, such as solidarity, while also casting a light on issues that are important to today’s teenagers such as the correct use of social media, school, education, bullying, peer pressure, etc.
Amongst the guests who spoke to the students where directors Lucas Tanghe, Amelia Nanni, Dimitris Katsimiris and Theofylaktos Argyrou.
After the end of the screenings of “Petit Plan: Europa” the students voted for their favourite film and after the counting of the votes, the film that won the students’ attention most was French film “Meute” by director Ambre Rambaud for its sincere portrayal of sexism and bullying.
The director stated:
“Thank you so much for selecting Meute. It really means a lot to us. We are especially glad students appreciated it as they are the audience we wanted to address for its topic is a cause very close to our hearts. Thank you again for voting for this short film and helping us raise awareness on important matters as sexism, bullying and group effect.”
“Petit Plan: Europa” was organised in collaboration with the Representation of the European Commission in Greece and with the support of Hellenic American College, Hellenic American Union, Cervantes Institute, Embassy of Norway, Embassy of Switzerland, Embassy of Poland, French Institute, Embassy of Israel.
